When creating a digital layout, you should perform this task
in the same way as performing a traditional method of layout in Scrapbook. In
that case, therefore, you lay papers and their elements piling on top of the
other. Each of the papers, photos and decorations must exist on their own layer
within the document. In addition, you can change their position in your desired
direction. The following step will guide on creating a simple layout using
Adobe Photoshop and its features. The first step is to open your photo editor
software, which you will use to edit the photos to your desired size and look.
On the photo editor page, go to the file new, set the size of your document to
twelve by twelve inches square using a transparent background, and then click
on the OK button. This will definitely give you your layout document to work within
the scrapbook. The third step is to go the file, which you will open and then
locate the file of a paper you would like to use for the background of your
document. You can then click on the OK button. The fourth step in this
procedure is to position your layout document together with your paper document
windows in order for the document to be visible. In the next step, you can
click on the move tools. You can do this by clicking on the arrow icon at the
upper part of the tools palette. Otherwise, you can just type M. In order for
you to move your paper onto your layout, you should simply hold on the SHIFT
key, then click on the page, and drag it to your layout. Once you have
positioned your cursor on the layout, you can now release the mouse. Ensure
that the paper is at the center on its own layer in your layout document.
Repeat the steps in the procedure two to five this time with a photo having a
frame and a piece of word art. You can then position your elements and you will
have created a simple but attractive layout.
There are several tips that will enable you to manipulate
your files. The first is to click on the element’s layer in order to change its
position on your layout scrapbook. By using the Move Tool, you are able to move
your cursor over the element and click to drag the element onto the desired
position of your layout. In order to
change the size of an element on your layout, you only need to select the layer
of the element, and then move to edit. In order to transform, go to the PSE
user and transform using a free transform. You can then hold the SHIFT key and
drag simultaneously one of the corner handles in order in or out to change size
and maintain the original size. Your bounding box that has adjustment handle
will shop for you automatically after leaving the Show Bounding dialogue Box,
which is an option you can check on the tool bar. If you want to add depth to
your photo element, move the cursor to the layer, then to the layer style, drop
shadow and then adjust setting in your dialogue box to your desire. In order to
move your elements in front or backward behind one another in the layout, you
click the mouse and drag the layer upwards or downwards into a new in the layer
palette using the scrapbook software.
