Note that some of the most common digital scrapbooking features that you will only find in the full-version of PS are typing text on a path, using layer masks, recording custom actions, and curves adjustment layers. Fortunately, there are products you can purchase in the store that will do many of these things for you. Other common photo editing programs include Corel Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft Digital Im­age Suite, ACD See Systems Photo Editor, and LumaPix FotoFusion Scrapbook Essentials.

Digital scrapbooking uses a combination of papers, al­phas, stamps, ribbons, and a variety of other embellishments the same way as Paper scrapbooking. Unlike paper scrapbooking, however, digital providers the user with a freedom to change size, color, and use again any product in your sup­ply stashes. The best thing is that it does not have mess that you can put away when you finish. Digital Scrapbooking Kits are a collection of papers and embellishments all centered on a particular theme and color scheme. Kits are the best way to get started with a page. This is because everything coordinates and is designed to work together to give your page a cohesive look. Digital Paper Packs are exactly those packs of papers in digital format. You use these JPEG versions of 12 by 12 inches papers to create backgrounds, photo mattes, die-cuts, etc., just as you would use a traditional piece of paper. Of course, you are able to use these papers repeatedly, no longer worrying about making the wrong cut and wasting your supply. Digital Alphas come in a variety of formats. Some come with each letter/symbol as an individual PNG file, others come as a single PNG file with the entire set on one document, and still others are brush sets, or ABR files.  Digital Overlays are comparable to traditional transparencies. They are also PNG files, so part of the image is transparent, allowing elements beneath it on a layout to show through.
