Scrapbooking made fun and easy

We capture the special moments by taking pictures. Scrapbooking is a fun and creative way of preserving these kind of memories. It helps us document family history, childhood keepsakes and your most memorable moments. Also it lets you leave something behind for other people to see. It's in a way like storytelling, except it isn't told but read. Today Scrapbooks have become an attractive display for your pictures as well as a way of keeping a journal. Scrapbooking can be as simple or as hard as you want it to be, if you keep your mind open to new thoughts you'll be able to make great scrapbooks. To start your Scrapbooking, first collect all your photos and put it in one place. Then choose a focal-point photo. All the other photos will serve as accessories that will help you tell the rest of the story. Organize all of your photos in the order in which you’d like them displayed. The top-left hand corner is an excellent point in your focal-point photo when you have several photos you want to use on your layout. You can also enlarge its size for emphasis. Make sure that all the other materials you use is acid-free like your decorative papers, stickers, pens, or scrapbooks used in scrapbooking to keep your photos safe from turning brown with age. Those who are doing it the first time has the tendency to go overboard when purchasing supplies for their scrapbook. Buy the basics before anything else, these includes scrapbook, page protectors, colored cardstock, patterned paper, colored pens, decorative scissors, adhesive. Then you will need a scrapbook frame, this can be a photo-album, a photo-frame, a piece of paper or an old book. When you already have your scrapbook frame, you can now choose a subject. The first page of your scrapbook should be for the title page. The next two page spread is where to begin. You can add stickers or other embellishments if you like. Cut a piece of patterned paper into a large curved shape and attach it to your cardstock. It instantly creates visual interest to your background. If the background of the photo is not important, you may crop the photo in a shape so that the focus is on the subject. It is best to use plain scissors instead of a decorative one when cropping as it may tend to take your eye away from the photo. Wrap ribbons around your focal-point photo to add emphasis. You may also cut your cardstock or patterned paper into fun shapes to add personality to your layout and arrange everything on your spread. Lace a strip of ribbon through punched holes along one side of the border to create a pretty-looking page accent. After you decide on your layout, adhere all the photos and paper to the scrapbook page using a roll-on adhesive. Add on a premade envelope to your layout to tuck in the extra journaling. Give your envelope a unique look by customizing it to your own preference. Think of a catchy title and apply it to the page. For a great page title, cut out letters from patterned paper. You can also use quotes. Everybody talks a lot and sometimes they say something worth remembering because sometimes they say something worth remembering because it’s either funny or wise. These things are perfect to use when scrapbooking, just use the quotation marks and put whatever the person said in between the quotation marks. When you're adding stories to the to the scrapbook, put the stories on different pages. It’s easy to make a spelling mistake and if you do, you’ll have to start all over again. Use pictures as a guide for your story. Get the basic overview on photo some nice details, what is going on and the end result. Journaling is one of the most important parts of a scrapbook. Write about what is happening in the photos. Handwrite your journaling on cardstock. Handwriting them gives a personal touch to the the memories. Include names and dates and explain what funny things happened. Making a scrapbook is about having fun and making it a memorable event. You will find it as fun and a very relaxing hobby especially when you do it with your family members or some closest friends.
