It’s not just the photos that make those memories complete but also words, objects, poetry, phrases; they all add up to create a special book that is very pleasing to look at and is also a memoir. Scrapbooking started as early as the fifteenth century as a means of collecting poems and recipes etc. Later on it gathered fame as people started adding different materials and objects into their scrapbooks. Creating different motifs by drawing or by adding cutouts, using buttons and dried flowers, writing poetry and phrases, placing pictures and even adding fabric are all a part of crafting a scrapbook. Looking at a scrapbook after a couple of years is always a pleasure as each and every item holds a significant value in its own way and helps you remember and relive the past more vividly. Scrapbooking has been around for ages and it’s not just the owner who receives pleasure from it; future generations also get a lot of education in terms of the family tree. Various items can be used to create a scrapbook such as embroidered fabric, buttons, broken earrings, marbles, pebbles, chipboard, lace, ribbons, sequins, cut-outs of letters, photos, beads, stickers, you name it and it can be used as embellishments to beautify the page.
